Pikked GW13: Premier League Acrtion Is Back Already!

Updated: Jan 7

Dear Pikked players,

Game week 12 was an odd one, wasn't it?

Those in European action midweek have struggled to assert their dominance in this round of fixtures. Pikked scores have been a season-low on the platform as the big boys disappoint. Scott Parker’s Fulham with arguably the pick of the bunch so far, holding a usually rampant Liverpool to a 1-1 draw. Klopp's men looked lethargic throughout. A questionable penalty call diverted by Mo Salah saved their blushes and only just because the Egyptians penalty had just as much power as Donald Trump will have in the new year. Jurgen Klopp showed his love for Scott Parker, however, exclaiming that Fulham plays good-looking manager for their good-looking manager.

The Manchester derby was an absolute drag, we've seen better games of cricket. Both City and United looked like they'd rather end the season right now. Not many shots or clear cut chances to call, but both managers probably would've taken a point before the game, hence why neither wanted to stretch their legs. Easier games to come for both and they both need wins under their belts as soon as possible...

Everton were the other surprise package on the weekend. Dominic Calvert Lewin was brought down in the area for Gylfi Sigurdsson to fire past Eduard Mendy. The game stayed this way, even with the best effort of Giroud and Christian Pulisic. Carlo Ancelotti will be thrilled with this result and will hope that the Toffees kick on now.

West Ham to beat Crystal Palace

We always seem to bet against the Hammers. They keep proving us wrong. That's why this week we have decided to back them. Jarrod Bowen looks like an established Premier League player operating on the left flank. Ogbonna and Balbuena as beginning to strike up a partnership at the heart of the defence. Rice and Soucek are arguably the best midfield pairing in the league. What a turn around for Moyes's men who look comfortable in the Premier League, the first time for many years. Palace are no pushovers though, they secured an impressive 1-1 draw against Tottenham. We fancy West Ham though.

Manchester City to beat West Brom

Manchester City looked half bothered against Manchester United. A lacklustre display without any urgency could result in Pep's worst season in the blue half of Manchester. Nevertheless, De Bruyne, Foden and Sterling adore the Spaniard, they will be looking for the Baggies blood. West Brom has picked up some impressive results this season though and Bilic side will pray for a result at the Etihad. Manchester City is far too strong though.

Southampton to beat Arsenal

Southampton have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league this season. Hasenhuttl is finally getting through to his men on the south coast. With the return of Danny Ings, Ward Prowse a threat on dead balls and the tallest centre-back pairing in the league, the Saints look a force to be reckoned with. Arsenal, on the other hand, sit in fifteenth place. Arsenal isn't in threat of relegation but need to start getting results to fade Arteta's blushes. We think Southampton will have too much for a misfiring Arsenal this week though.
